    More About Coach Carol Robertson

    My coaching practice
Empowering you to get to where to where you want to go is what my practice is all about. Because the changes first take place in the brain, I work with all sorts of issues that people experience and with all ages and I am always interested. I think of it as a kind of brain sculpture, sometimes it’s simple other times complex. Once the change happens in the brain, then emotional and behavioural responses change, body responses change such as pain, allergies and gut issues, beliefs then change and how people respond to the person changes. When the brain changes there is a cascade of change. Science is showing us that we are actually changing our brain all the time, shaping ourselves. The idea of being fit is something we are used to, now we can begin to artfully enjoy exploring making fit brains or perhaps brains that better fit our modern needs.
    Professional / Life experience
An internationally recognised change-maker I am a coach and trainer, a specialist in trauma, creativity and communication. I am a successful artist, inventor of 18 products and an author of two books which are published globally by Thames & Hudson. My study of the mind and healing began in the 1970s and continues to this day, when new methods and new light has come to the field. At last neuroscience is showing us how change happens and providing models for us to understanding our emotions and behaviours, drives and beliefs. Learning about NLP in 1980 was a life-changing experience which has massively informed my teaching and professional practice. I was excited to become one of the first five practitioners and Havening trainers in the world. And I am proud to be a member of Justbewell, the highly regarded international team of therapists. I am an NLP Trainer, an Advanced Therapeutic Specialist of NLP, and a master practitioner. I was trained by the co-creator of NLP, Richard Bandler, Dr Ronald Ruden, Dr Steven Ruden, Paul McKenna, John and Kathleen La Valle, Michael Neil, Eric Robbie, Gabriel Guerrero, James R Shaw, Kevin Laye and Amelia Kincade. A bit more detail I grew up in Scotland and became interested in self-development in my early teens. I continue to use these ideas and tools every day and I used them to become an author, inventor, artist, collaborative artist, businesswoman, coach, trainer and consultant. I always aim for the best possible outcome: my books are published by Thames & Hudson, are still in print and are now considered to be standard works; my eighteen inventions are made by the prestigious Swiss company Lascaux and are sold worldwide; my own art works have been awarded ‘Sovereign Award for the best painters in Europe’ (judge Sir Peter Blake) and have been collected by HM The Queen amongst others; artworks made by me in collaboration with high-profile artists have been collected by Tate, the Government Art Collection and The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. I have also used these self-development concepts, methods and tools to recover from the knocks and bumps of life, and to enjoy life fully and richly. I love all the senses and our internal and external world. I like to cook, create gardens, be with family and friends, travel and learn. I am also a riding coach, helping riders overcome PTSD. I have an interest in the benefits of communication and positive reinforcement. I have trained in classical, BHS, natural horsemanship and clicker, and have developed a new psychosensory process called Animal and Equine-assisted Havening. I also help people communicate more effectively with animals.
    My clients
Over the years I have worked with all sorts of wonderful people and we have enjoyed the successes of the collaboration, together. Because the changes first take place in the brain, I work with all sorts of issues that people experience and with all ages and I am always interested. I am so happy when people get the results they dream of, whether that is being free of an upsetting thought or symptom, managing stress or some of the issues like sensory overwhelm or misophonia which can be experienced by those on the spectrum or getting their artwork into the Tate gallery, seeing their team improve production, or riding at Badminton horse trials. What clients tell me is that it is great having someone who is on their side and who they can celebrate their triumphs with too.
